大阪・関西万博に足を運んで気づいたことの中の一つが、世界中には様々な民族衣装があるということです。たくさんの国の文化に触れることが出来るコモンズ感の中で、やんぶも民族衣装を着る体験をさせていただいて、その国の文化により興味を持ちました。
At the Osaka-Kansai Expo, Yanbu was struck by the sheer diversity of traditional ethnic costumes from across the globe. It was amazing to be in such a communal space, encountering so many different cultures. Yanbu even got to try on some of the traditional dress, which really sparked a deeper curiosity about the cultures of those nations.
そこでやんぶは思いました。 A-yan!!が長年行っている着せ替え人形を使って日本の皆さんに世界中の民族衣装を知ってもらおう、そして外国人の方からも自分の国の民族衣装について教えてもらおうと。
That’s when an idea hit us: A-yan!! has these dress-up dolls we’ve been making for ages. We could totally use them to show everyone in Japan all sorts of ethnic outfits from different countries. And hey, we could even ask people from overseas to tell us about their own traditional clothing!
そこで早速A-yan!!所属アーティストの神野翼先生主導のもと、先日天王寺区民センターで開催された『やったもん勝ち体験会』 で『万国ペーパードール』をお披露目したところ大盛りあがり。
Under the guidance of A-yan!! artist Tsubasa Kohno, we unveiled the “World Paper Dolls” at the recent “Yattamon-gachi Experience Fair” held at the Tennoji Ward Community Center, and it was a huge hit!
翼先生のサンプルをもとに、万国ペーパードールがどんどん作られていってました。
Based on Tsubasa-sensei’s samples, World Paper Dolls were being created one after another.

Our goal is to collaborate with individuals globally to produce World Paper Dolls. We believe that by using traditional ethnic attire as a starting point, we can collectively and enjoyably deepen our understanding of diverse nations.
